Art changes people and people change the world.
I’m Wing, an environmental artist, nature photographer, and sustainability educator dedicated to bridging the gap between people, nature, and our environment.
My artistic practice revolves around using discarded and unconventional materials, along with photographs that tell compelling stories about our ecosystems and sustainability. I find immense joy in unearthing forgotten items and giving them new life and significance through my murals. My art not only inspires creativity but also encourages viewers to see the world from a fresh perspective. Reactions often range from awe and appreciation to shock over the damaging effects of waste on wildlife and nature.
Creating beautiful, thought-provoking, and educational pieces from items that would otherwise be discarded is both meaningful and fulfilling for me. We need more advocates for our community and environment. If one of my murals prompts even a single person to reconsider throwing away a bottle, can, plastic bag, or fishing line into nature, then I consider my work a success.
I am based in NYC and offer a variety of family-friendly art events, nature-inspired birthday parties, and nature-based art therapy classes. If you’re interested in exploring these options, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Activate Our Garden Program
Activate Our Garden is an award-winning STEAM program dedicated to sustainability and gardening.
Before I embraced my role as an environmental participatory artist and nature photographer, I was deeply involved in sustainability education at my children's elementary school through the Activate Our Garden program. I emphasized the significance of cultivating sustainable gardens, creating safe havens for the pollinators vital to our ecosystem, and integrating recycling into our daily practices to foster a deeper connection with nature, our environment, and each other.
I take pride in the impact of my initiatives, which have heightened awareness and appreciation for these important issues while driving positive behavior change. Notably, we achieved our ambitious goal of eliminating plastic bags and containers from bake sales, book fairs, and other events long before New York City's plastic bag ban took effect.
Moreover, we successfully reduced the sale of disposable toys during fundraising events by 60% compared to previous years. My environmental art mural project has also garnered multiple city-wide awards for sustainability and artistic excellence.

A parallel passion of mine is nature photography. When the COVID-19 shutdown occurred, I decided to view it as an opportunity to explore new interests and passions. I dust off a storage box and took out my camera that I bought years ago and the rest was history. I have enjoyed connecting with nature and our environment, and capturing images of birds, bees and butterflies. Rather calling myself a photographer, I am more of a visual journalist with a camera. It has been rewarding to share these images with the community, while feeling connected to wildlife, my natural surroundings, and my fellow neighbors and community members who have also seized this opportunity to grow, learn and inspire others.

Why Butterflies and Wing?
I have been raising butterflies for years AND because my name is Wing ... and it is my goal to uplift everyone I encounter and help them spread their wings and learn how to fly.
Beautiful, transformative butterflies have been a source of awe and inspiration for me along my artistic journey. Whether it is gardening, photography, or the creation of my art, the poetic beauty of the butterfly -- its metamorphosis and triumphant journey -- is never far from my heart, my conservation efforts or my art.
Conservation work is not easy. If you like my work, please consider supporting me by buy me a coffee or buy me a milkweed.
